The primary objective of The Highlander Institute is to be a catalyst in the progress and development of the society. To fulfill and achieve its objective, the institute in partnership with various likeminded organizations introduced various academic and development initiatives.
DEGREE AND DIPLOMA COURSES
The Highlander Institute offers various courses purely in Online and Distance Mode from January 2026 session. This includes undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programmes with subjects such as: English, History, Political Science, Economics, Education, Public Administration and Journalism & Mass Communication, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; Financial Management, Operation Management, HR Management and Marketing Management; Master of Commerce; Master of Computer Application and Master of Library and Information Science.
These programmes are offered in partnership with Mangalayatan Univesity, Aligarh (UP), India.
INTERNSHIPS
Internship has become a primary component in graduate and postgraduate programmes as per the New Education Policy, 2020. The goal of internship is to get students exposed to wider learning experience so as to ensure they are ready for the challenges once they completed their course. The Institute guides, assists and provides hands-on-learning experience to students who wish to take up internship assignments with us. We specialize in writing academic reports, content creation, news writing and skill developments.
LECTURE SERIES
A healthy debate and discussion is of paramount importance to planning and policymaking which otherwise will translate to development. To promote and ensure a healthy discourse, the institute organize a lecture series called “Raja Chengjapao Memorial Lecture” since 2026. The institute invites prominent academic and intellectual figures from all across the country to present their ideas and experiences. This has help the administrators, social leaders and the general public in addressing the challenges in a more efficient ways.
PARTNERSHIPS
Partnership is the backbone of The Highlander Institute. Presently, the institute is in partnership various likeminded academic, industry, church, government agencies and non-governmental organisations spread across the country. They are: Mangalayatan University, Aligarh; Oasis College, Kangpokpi; Development Horizon, Lamka; Kanggui College, Kangpokpi; Northeast Diary, Shillong and Rafael Chunnu Foundation, Kangpokpi.
CONSULTANT
The Highlander Institute also assists individuals, societies, government departments and academic institutions by offering consulting services from time to time. These services are delivered in the form of workshops, seminars, training programmes and counsellings as and when demanded. With a wide range of experts drawn from diverse fields, the institute is the first such centre that delivers consulting services to the public.
